Description

This item has been just added to our inventory.

Very well made Early Edo Rokujyu-ni Ken Suji Kabuto (62 individual riveted plates) by the Myôchin smith Harunobu who belonged to the Masuda line. All individual plates have been skillfully placed to create this beautiful proportioned shape. Inside the kabuki we can see the gold lacquer with 4 kanji Mei of Myochin Harunobu. Both Fukurin (Rim trimmings) along the Tsuke Mabizashi (front visor) and Fukigaeshi are made of beautifully sculpted Shakudo with chiselings. The Maedate is from a younger deer and has a large Manji-Mon (crest with reverse swastika which represented Buddhism in ancient Japan).

The Mempo is not included in this purchase (only displayed to compliment the kabuto)
