Wakizashi by Mino Kanemoto

SKU: NH0428 Category:
Description

This very interesting piece, in original toppei mountings. This was originally a large koto katana, and the nakago gives us a clear idea of what happened to it. The nakago reads “Kiritsuke-mei Kanemoto – Heianjo Mitsutada kore no ageru” & dated Bunsei 2nd year 8th month.
To translate this in august of 1819ad the smith Heianjo Mitsutada shortened this blade which was originally signed kanemoto. The blade is very healthy and has the famous Sanbon Sugi Hamon. This is a consignment piece and offered for sale.
