A large and unique Edo period Tokubetsu Hozon papered Heianjo Tsuba. Unique because four areas around the Nakago-ana have been filled with a metal alloy that gives off a stone effect. The inlay and overall condition are in absolutely pristine condition for Edo period work which is why it has been awarded Tokubetsu Hozon. Comes in a very large and high quality custom wood box. Tsuba alone weighs 166 grams.
