k, the Nakago is also very wide and when it sits in the Tsuka it has the feeling of being very massive, fills your hands very well. It has not been over polished and for an early Edo blade its nice to see all the characteristics so clearly, much like a more recently made sword. The blade is signed and with recent Hozon certificate. The Koshirae has a full dragon theme, what more can you ask for. They are all very nicely detailed fittings and the rayskin and Tsuka-ito are old but in excellent condition. It has a nice rustic dark orange to it. The saya is aged but has a more recent lacquer to it. The new Custodian of this blade will be very proud.
