Truely a stunning Koto work by Bishu Osafune Iesuke, the polish and forging quality is perfect, Juyo quality level work. Blade has a very active and strong Hamon throughout with a nice amount of Utsuri. The koshirae is a perfect match for this level of work, all matching Shakudo Paulownia Mon throughout the fittings, including the solid silver Habaki. This Mon originally belonged to the Toyotomi clan during Muromachi period and during Edo period was the seal of the imperial family of Japan. We highly recommend this item.
